A stolen car carrying guns slammed into two vehicles including a CTA bus, leaving one person dead and at least 13 injured Wednesday night in the Washington Park neighborhood.
Around 7 p.m., officers noticed a vehicle speeding in the 6800 block of South State Street and followed behind to the 6000 block of South State Street, where the speeding vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection before striking a CTA bus, Chicago police said.
The driver of the vehicle in the intersection was taken to an area hospital where they were pronounced dead, police said.
Ten people on the CTA bus, including the driver, were all taken to area hospitals with injuries not considered life threatening, officials said.
Three occupants in the speeding vehicle were taken into custody and hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
