1 killed, 2 wounded in Englewood shooting

A female motorist was killed and two passengers were shot while traveling in a vehicle early Tuesday in Englewood.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to calls of a person shot in the 7200 block of South Green Street and found multiple people shot while in a vehicle, Chicago police said.

The driver, a female whose age wasn’t known, was shot in the back and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she died, police said.

A 20-year-old passenger was shot in the shoulder and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was in serious condition, officials said.

A 17-year-old boy was struck in the elbow and was taken to the University of Chicago in good condition, authorities said.

No one was in custody.

Area 1 detectives are investigating.
