A Maryland man was killed and four others were injured in a Thursday morning crash on U.S. 40 near Fraser, police said.
The crash happened around 9:25 a.m. Thursday, after a pickup truck traveling east lost traction on the icy highway, spun across the median and collided with a semitrailer traveling west, according to a news release from the Fraser and Winter Park Police Department.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old Aurora man, and three other passengers were hurt in the crash. As of Friday morning, one woman remained in critical condition in a Denver-area hospital.
A fifth pickup truck passenger, a 29-year-old man from Bethesda, Maryland died in the crash, police said in the release.
The Grand County Coroner’s Office will identify the man at a later date.
