1 killed in single-vehicle crash on I-25 in Denver

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 25 in downtown Denver early Monday morning, according to police.

Denver Police Department officers responded to the crash on I-25 near 20th Street at around 1:45 a.m., agency officials said in an email.

Denver Fire Department crews extricated one person from the crash.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, Denver police said.

Northbound I-25 was closed until about 5:30 a.m. because of the crash, and the cause of the crash is under investigation, according to the police department.
