One man was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in Roseland on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said.
Three men were involved in a verbal altercation inside a business in the first block of East 111th Street at 4:10 p.m. when one of them opened fire, police said.
Monte Potts, 34, was shot in the back and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. where he was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy was scheduled for Potts, of the 7100 block of South Vale Avenue, the medical examiner’s office said.
Another man was struck in the head and right forearm. He was taken to Christ Medical center in critical condition.
The suspected shooter was taken into custody at the scene and taken to Roseland Hospital in good condition, police said.
