1 of 3 teens shot outside United Center Lil Durk concert dies: officials

One of three teens wounded in a shooting outside the United Center Sunday night has died, Chicago police said Monday.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, has not been formally identified, according to police. He was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger, initially in critical condition.

The attack, which also wounded a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, happened at 6:56 p.m. in the 100 block of North Wolcott Avenue, just minutes before the Lil Durk concert began.

It happened near a United Center parking lot.

The 19-year-old was listed in critical condition while the 15-year-old was grazed in the abdomen and shot in the hand was in good condition. Both were recovering at Stroger, police said.

Police didn’t disclose the circumstances of the shooting. No one is in custody.

Last year, unconfirmed reports of shots fired near the end of Lil Durk’s set at United Center sparked a “stampede” that injured several people.
