A 6-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a white SUV in Englewood on Friday morning. The vehicle then fled the scene, police said.
Two pedestrians were in the crosswalk in the 1700 block of West 69th Street about 7:42 a.m., when a white SUV traveling westbound struck both pedestrians, police say.
The 6-year-old girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition after sustaining several injuries. The other victim, a 15-year-old girl, sustained scrapes and was transported to Comer in serious condition, police said. No other injuries were reported.
No one is in custody, and the Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
