About 2:26 p.m., the men were standing on the street when four unknown men in a white vehicle approached them, police said. The driver fired multiple shots toward the two men before fleeing in an unknown direction.
A 31-year-old man was shot in the back and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said. A 32-year-old man was shot in the left ankle and taken to the same hospital in good condition.
No one is in custody, and area detectives are investigating.
