2 officers hurt in Baldwin Park shooting

Two police officers were shot in Baldwin Park on Saturday evening, and there was a large law enforcement presence in a residential neighborhood as police investigated.

At least one person was arrested, CBS Los Angeles reported.

It happened in the 4200 block of Filhurst Avenue, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Sheila Kelliher told City News Service.

One officer was taken to a hospital by air and the other by ground ambulance.

News video from the scene shows a large law enforcement presence, including SWAT officers and armored vehicles, in the residential neighborhood in the area of Palm and Harlan avenues. That area is east of the 605 Freeway and north of the 10 Freeway.

Information on the conditions of the officers was not immediately available.

The violence was reported to authorities around 7:23 p.m., the Citizen App reported. Information on the circumstances surrounding the shooting was not immediately available.
