Two men were stabbed in separate attacks along the same West Loop block early Monday.
Most recently, Central District officers on patrol about 2 a.m. found a 44-year-old man standing in the middle of the street with several injuries in the 1300 block of South Jefferson Street
He told officers he was attacked by two assailants — one of them armed with an ax, police said.
He was taken to Stroger where he was in good condition, authorities said.
Just one hour earlier, a 40-year-old man was walking in the same block along Jefferson Street when he was attacked and robbed by someone on a bicycle, Chicago police said.
He suffered cuts to his head and also was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.
No one was in custody in either attack.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
