A 34-year-old man was seriously injured in an attack Sunday morning in West Town.
The man was on the sidewalk about 5:25 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Ashland Avenue when a male whose age was unknown battered him, according to police.
The attacker then ran off in an unknown direction, police said.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
Area 5 detectives are investigating.
