The quake occurred at 8:49 a.m., between Clayton and Willow Pass roads, the USGS said. The Southern California Earthquake Data Center recorded it at a depth of about 9 miles.
Rumbles were felt from Santa Rosa to Mountain View and from the coast to Rio Vista, according to the USGS Did You Feel It prompt, which received 3,730 responses.
Sunday’s quake comes just two days after three temblors shook the San Francisco Peninsula on Friday, with magnitudes of 3.6, 2.5 and 2.9 and epicenters 3 miles to 4 miles northwest of the San Francisco Zoo, according to the USGS.
Those quakes occurred between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., with the strongest felt from Santa Rosa to Santa Cruz and inland to Dublin and San Jose, according to the USGS Did You Feel It prompt.
