Five people, including two children, were injured Wednesday afternoon in a northwestern Aurora crash after a car veered into oncoming traffic, police said.
Aurora officers responded to a two-vehicle crash near East Colfax Avenue and Altura Boulevard just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, police department spokesperson Joe Moylan said.
That intersection lies between Interstate 225 and Chambers Road.
A car carrying two adults and two children swerved into the wrong direction of traffic and struck another car, Moylan said. It’s unclear which direction the car was headed at the time of the crash.
The driver of the car that was hit, an unidentified woman, was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, Moylan said. Paramedics took the four people in the other car to the hospital with unknown injuries.
No additional information about the crash was available Wednesday. It remains under investigation, Moylan said.
