Three suspects, at least on whom was armed with a gun, emerged from a car and took multiple items from a man during an ambush-style robbery on a West Hollywood sidewalk, authorities said Saturday.
The robbery occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Friday on the 1100 block of Hacienda Place, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard and one block east of La Cienega Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Surveillance video shows a four-door, silver or grey sedan slow down, then three people dressed in dark clothes and face coverings jump out and confront the victim, forcing him to the ground and taking multiple items.
The suspects then hurried back into the waiting car and fled the scene.
The items taken included the man’s wedding ring and a watch, KTLA5 reported.
“We’re still waiting for detectives to review information so that we can provide more details at a later time,” a watch commander at the sheriff’s West Hollywood station told City News Service on Saturday.
