A 60-year-old man was found dead from an apparent parachuting crash in a Boulder County field on Sunday.
First responders used CPR to attempt to revive the man after he was found facedown and nonresponsive Sunday afternoon, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. A witness told deputies that they’d seen the man “a few hundred feet above the ground” and falling quickly. He was spinning, and his parachute appeared not to be fully open.
The man was qualified to make solo jumps, the sheriff’s office said. He was found in a field in the 10,000 block of North 75th Street in unincorporated Boulder County.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the man’s death with the county coroner’s office. The man’s name has not been released.
