7 concerts and comedy shows coming to Southern California casinos in August

August is right around the corner, and Southern California casinos have a lineup of entertainment before the last quarter of the year. Whether you’re looking for a good laugh, rocking out with Hall of Famers, or listening and dancing to Mexican and synth wave music, next month will be plenty of fun for everyone.

Jimmy O. Yang

Jimmy O. Yang, best known for his roles in “Silicon Valley,” “Space Force,” and “Love Hard,” is hitting the road on a stand-up tour. Comedy fans looking to get a feel for his comedy can check out “Good Deal” and “Guess How Much?,” both of which are available to stream on Amazon Prime. His next venture includes a role in the upcoming Hulu limited series “Interior Chinatown,” which will be directed by Taika Waititi and written by Charles Yu.

George Lopez

Comedian and actor George Lopez recently wrapped up the final season of “Lopez vs. Lopez,” where he was joined by his real-life daughter, Mayan, who also acted in the show. The NBC series premiered its final episode in February after the network decided to cancel it. Lopez is now headed out for a small series of shows and appearances that are an ode to his early days as a stand-up comedian.

Def Leppard

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen have proven to be one of the genre’s most enduring acts. In 2022, the hair metal group released their twelfth studio album “Diamond Star Halos,” which debuted at the number one spot on the Apple and Amazon Music charts, scored a Top 10 debut on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, and marked their eighth Top 10 album of their career, and garnered a number one debut on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart.

Berlin

Los Angeles-based new wave/synth-pop band Berlin has experienced a resurgence over the last few years, following their breakup during the height of their success in the ’80s. In 2022 and 2023, Berlin played the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, becoming the only band to play a second consecutive year at the new wave and goth music festival. The group is known for hits such as “No More Words,” “The Metro,” and “Take My Breath Away,” the massive hit from the original “Top Gun” soundtrack.

Whitney Cummings

Whitney Cummings, known for her brutally honest humor, her “Can I Touch It?” comedy special, and as the co-creator of the sitcom “2 Broke Girls,” is taking a break from her “Good For You” podcast to perform stand-up shows. Cummings approaches everyday life issues with wit, often delivering jokes that hurt and heal. Expect a lot of talk around dating life disasters, modern life madness and more.

Alicia Villarreal

Mexican singer and former leader of Grupo Limite, Alicia Villarreal, is on the road promoting her biggest solo hits. The Donde Todo Began 2.0 Tour celebrates Villarreal’s career, featuring fan favorites such as “Te Queda Grande La Yegua,” “Besos y Copas,” and “Celosa.” In May, Villarreal made history as the first-ever female headliner at PACfest 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.

Air Supply

Air Supply, one of the most romantic and iconic hitmakers of the ’80s, is celebrating 50 years of music. Along with a tour celebrating their most notable hits, the band at the helm of duo Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, will release and include a biopic titled “All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story,” a yet to be titled autobiography by Russell and Hitchcock, and their 18th studio album, “A Matter of Time.”
