Actor Jason Schwartzman lists Toluca Lake cottage for just under $1.75M

A Toluca Lake home purchased by actor Jason Schwartzman last October is on the market for $1.749 million.

The asking price is nearly what he paid for the 2,323-square-foot house, which offers a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms between the Tudor-style cottage and guest quarters above the garage.

Records show that Schwartzman and his wife, Brady Cunningham, acquired the property newly remodeled in October 2024 for $1.75 million.

Modest by Hollywood standards, the home encompasses a 7,001-square-foot lot with outdoor patio areas. Within the main house are three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open floor plan.

A fireplace anchors the living room, which is separated from the dining room by a wide arch.

The tiled kitchen features quartz countertops, open shelves, a farmhouse sink, a refurbished vintage stove and a casual dining area.

Elsewhere, the primary suite features an upgraded bathroom, a walk-in closet and direct access to the patio.

Preserved red oak flooring, latch windows and built-ins add century-old character to the home.

Separate from the primary living areas is a 634-square-foot guest house above the garage. It includes one bedroom, one bathroom and a full kitchen with dining and living areas, plus a covered patio.

Danny Emmer of Douglas Elliman has the listing, which initially hit the market August 14 for $1.8 million but dropped to its current ask Sept. 12.

Schwartzman, 45, made his acting debut as the lead in Wes Anderson’s film “Rushmore” (1998) and has consistently worked in Hollywood since then as an actor, musician and producer. His long list of credits includes collaborations with his Coppola cousins from his mother Talia Shire’s side of the family.

Sofia Coppola directed him in “Marie Antoinette” (2006) and her brother, Roman Coppola, collaborated with Schwartzman on creating “Mozart in the Jungle” (2014-2018) for Amazon.

Schwartzman’s other notable works include providing the voice of Dr. Johnathon Ohnn/The Spot in Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy, which will return in 2027 with “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” Before that, he will appear in Anne Rice’s supernatural fantasy series “Talamasca: The Secret Order,” set to debut in October on AMC and AMC+, and the Christmas film “Oh. What. Fun.,” starring Michelle Pfeiffer, on Amazon Prime Video in December.
