After abruptly closing restaurants, Del Taco reopening sites across Colorado

After closing all but one of its Colorado restaurants in February, Del Taco is reopening 17 locations in metro Denver, Colorado Springs and northern Colorado.

The company said Wednesday that it will reopen 17 restaurants in phases. The location at 3465 N. Salida St. in Aurora will stay closed.

One of three Colorado Springs locations and ones in Lone Tree and Firestone were shown as open on the Del Taco website Thursday. A location in Pueblo was listed as coming soon.

“We’re grateful for the patience and loyalty of our guests and are thrilled to once again serve the communities that have supported us since 2003,” Del Taco said in a statement.

The company said it will reveal specific reopening dates and locations as they become available. Del Taco has a total of about 590 restaurants across 18 states, according to its website. Jack in the Box Inc. bought the California-based company in 2022.

Del Taco abruptly closed all but one of its stores in February. The company called the closures temporary, but didn’t give a reason.

A restaurant in Grand Junction, which was owned and operated by a different franchisee, stayed open.

The company plans to add kiosks to each of the 17 reopened locations. Del Taco said it’s bringing back its fan favorite Macho Burrito line and introducing carnitas across multiple favorites, including burritos, quesadillas, street tacos and loaded fries.

Other Del Taco restaurants are in Brighton, Castle Rock, Centennial, Commerce City, Englewood, Greeley, Lakewood and Parker.
