AMBER Alert issued for San Jose girl reported missing

SAN JOSE — An AMBER Alert has been issued for a San Jose teen girl who was last seen Monday, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol issued the alert Tuesday morning seeking the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Jessica Simpson, after she was reported missing to San Jose police.

Jessica is described as standing 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. A photo provided shows her wearing eyeglasses.

She was last seen wearing a green long-sleeved shirt, green pants, a black backpack, and with a blue unicorn-themed blanket wrapped around her head. Authorities believe she is was on foot when she was last seen around 4:45 p.m. Monday near Mariposa Avenue and Tillman Avenue, near the city’s Midtown neighborhood west of downtown.

Anyone who believes they have seen Jessica, or has information about her whereabouts should call 911, authorities said.
