The Sky’s Angel Reese is happy to be back on the court — she went through warmups and is a game-time decision against the Storm — but a bigger issue is looming.
Before the game Reese was asked how her recovery process went and said, “I’ll speak on that after the season.”
And when addressing her return she said, “Put all the bulls— to the side, I wanna hoop.”
During Reese’s absence the Sky provided very few details on her injury and timetable, just saying that she’s “day-to-day” and “progressing.”
While she’s returned to the fold more recently, she missed a home game and two road trips with the team over the last couple weeks.
Reese has only played two games since the All-Star break. The last time she played was July 29 on the road against the Mystics.
After that game she said: “It was ugly, very ugly for me, but I tried to push through as much as I could for my teammates because I know they need me out there.”
It’s not yet clear what the disconnect is between Reese and the organization. But her comments revealed that the recovery process did not go smoothly.
When asked about her recovery process she said she would “speak on that after the season.”

Coach Tyler Marsh’s plan was more threes. Though the Sky’s attempts are up, the league sped further ahead, and one roster weakness simply gave way to another.

Reese participated in all non-contact drills at practice Sunday. Her return would inject some life into the Sky’s final stretch of the season.
