INDIANAPOLIS — Sky forward Angel Reese appears set to play in Saturday’s All-Star Game after missing her team’s last regular-season game with a leg injury.
While Reese hasn’t officially confirmed her All-Star availability, she practiced Friday morning with Team Collier, running through sets under head coach Cheryl Reeve.
She has been managing leg discomfort since late June while logging heavy minutes during Kamilla Cardoso’s absence. She sat out for the first time during Wednesday’s blowout loss to the Dream, a game Ariel Atkins also missed.
Reese was selected as one of 12 All-Star reserves by the league’s coaches. Her team’s starters include Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Allisha Gray, Nneka Ogwumike and Paige Bueckers.
“It means everything to me,” Reese said of being selected. “First year was much easier than this year. You go into a league where people know your game, but not really. Year 2, everybody knows your game. If you don’t get better in the offseason, it will show.”
Reese has taken clear strides as a sophomore, evolving into the Sky’s primary playmaker while continuing to lead the league in rebounding at 12.6 per game. She also improved her shooting efficiency — a key offseason focus — from 39% last season to 45% this year. Reese credits her offseason work at Unrivaled, including training alongside Collier, with helping her grow.
The All-Star Game — Team Collier vs. Team Clark — tips off Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and will air on ABC.
Reese also attended Thursday’s meeting between players and the league to discuss the union’s latest CBA proposal. Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement that the two sides had “constructive dialogue,” while union president Nneka Ogwumike told reporters that no progress was made.

Clark won’t play in the All-Star Game and has been battling injury all season. But even without her, the WNBA is drawing more viewers than the NHL.

Without their top playmakers, the Sky fell 86-49 to the Dream in a mid-morning game that was over by halftime.
