ANTIOCH — A 10-acre fire that broke out in Antioch on Tuesday afternoon prompted a public health advisory for smoke, authorities said.
The vegetation fire broke out shortly before 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Oakley Road and Willow Avenue, according to a social media post from Contra Costa Fire Protection District. It was contained around 6 p.m.
The blaze began as a second alarm and was later upgraded to a third alarm, authorities said.
The public health advisory was issued for Oakley, Brentwood, Byron and Discovery Bay, according to a social media post from the Contra Costa County Community Warning System. The advisory was lifted shortly before 8 p.m.
The fire did not cause any evacuations, authorities said. One person declined medical assistance and no additional injuries were reported.
Crews were slated to remain on scene for mop up, authorities added. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
