AOC slammed over ‘gibberish’ election leaflet with mangled Arabic translation in latest embarrassing Democrat blunder

ALEXANDRIA Ocasio-Cortez has been slammed over her “gibberish” leaflet targeting Arab voters a mere few days before the election.

The New York congresswoman’s campaign flyer has Arabic characters placed back to front – leaving speakers of the language furious.

AOC’s appeal to Arab voters has been mocked widely on social media due to one of her leaflets containing the massive error.

Confused Arabic speakers noticed the characters placed in reverse order and disconnected – translating to nothing but gibberish.

Arabic text is supposed to be in a smooth format from right to left, while AOC’s was the opposite.

An image of the flyer has been deleted from her page in a post where she attempts to appeal to Arabic speakers, calling for voters to register and cast their ballot ahead of the November 5 election.

The campaign leaflet was also made available in various other languages including English, Bengali and Chinese.

She accompanied the social media post with the caption: “Get out the vote operation is organising in five languages.

“We are mobilising New Yorkers to vote for [Kamala Harris]/[Tim Waltz] and me.”

There are around a whopping 800 languages spoken by the almost 20 million people who live in New York’s metropolitan area.

The main languages spoken are English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, French Creole and Bengali.

Furious Arabic speakers took to social media to express their disbelief on the Democrat blunder.

Journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin wrote on X: “This flyer that team AOC made to get out the vote in Arabic is spelled backwards and the letters are not connected.

“Pure gibberish. A true metaphor for her efforts to connect to Arab voters equals not caring enough about the basics like our right to life.”

And Meir Javendanfar, a professor of Iranian studies, fumed: “Much like her knowledge of the Middle East, the Arabic on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez flyers is gibberish and written backwards.”

It comes as uncertainty ramps up into the final full week of the 2024 campaign, with Harris and Trump locked in a fiercely competitive presidential contest.

What happens in the coming days will be pivotal in deciding the winner of next week’s election.

The other night Kamala Harris was forced to laugh off an awkward encounter with her supporters as a feeble attempt to fire them up fell flat.

The vice president was making her final stop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Monday, where she was joined by her running mate Tim Walz and singer Maggie Rogers.

At one point, her enthusiastic fans began chanting her name, yelling “Ka-ma-la, Ka-ma-la, Ka-ma-la”.

The quick-thinking VP tried to flip the script, asking supporters to yell their own names instead of hers.

“Now I want each of you to shout your own name. Do that,” Harris said. “Because it’s about all of us,” she laughed.

A quiet murmur began but the vast majority of the crowd was baffled, lowering signs and looking around.

Harris was quick to recover and laughed off the bizarre moment, continuing her speech: “I have fought my whole career to put the people first.”

And the Democrat candidate was caught on a hot mic making a damning admission about her campaign just days before the election.

The Vice President revealed the biggest failure in her race to The White House during a trip to a bar with Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer.

Harris and Whitmer seemed to forget they were surrounded by cameras and microphones as the pair picked up beers at a bar in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Saturday.

The Vice President was caught on camera revealing her campaign had to do more work to win over male voters, during the campaign stop.

“So my thing is we need to move ground among men,” Harris told Whitmer.

The Vice President then appeared to look up and back at the group of reporters and visitors at the Trak Houz Bar and Grill.

“Oh we have microphones in here just listening to everything,” Harris said to the cameras.

“I didn’t realize that.”

“OK. So now you’ll tell us,” Harris added.

The duo laughed at the incident and seemed relaxed by the mishap.
