‘Armed and dangerous’ prisoners escape through hole behind toilet while guard was on break

Seven ‘armed and dangerous’ inmates are still at large after they were filmed breaking out of prison through a wall behind a toilet.
Ten prisoners at Orleans Parish Jail in New Orleans, Louisiana, made a bid for freedom on Friday morning, with police so far only capturing three.
Footage shows the group prying open a door and sprinting down the prison steps in their orange jumpsuits, before they later sprinted across the multi-lane motorway.
Officers found the toilet and bolts all removed, with the escaped inmates even leaving messages including ‘to easy LOL [sic]’ behind.
The alarm was sounded at 8.30am when the group went unaccounted for, more than seven hours after their escape at 1am.

They have been named as Corey Boyd, Dkenan Dennis, Jermaine Donald, Derrick Groves, Antoine Massey, Robert Moody, Kendell Myles, Gary Price, Leo Tate, and Lenton Vanburen.
Police have already found Myles, who was charged with attempted murder, hiding under a car at a hotel car park in New Orleans’s French Quarter.
Louisiana Police said: ‘After a brief foot pursuit, he was apprehended on Royal Street. Troopers continue working with partners to locate the remaining escapees and ensure public safety.’

Moody has also been found after a tip off from a member of the public.
He was in prison on charges of illegal carrying of a weapon with narcotics, attempted second-degree battery, and obstruction.
Dennis is the latest to be confirmed as found, leaving seven inmates at large.
This includes Groves who was in prison on two charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder last year for a 2018 shooting on Mardi Gras.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill said: ‘Someone clearly dropped the ball, and there’s no excuse for this.
‘This is beyond unacceptable, and once these offenders are back in custody, there must be real accountability.’
The FBI has issued a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to the arrest of an inmate.
