An 18-year-old gunman was fatally shot by a concealed carry license holder during an attempted armed robbery late Tuesday in Wicker Park.
A 36-year-old man was grabbing things from his car around 10:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Artesian Avenue when someone armed with a gun approached and demanded his belongings, Chicago police said.
The 36-year-old, a concealed carry license holder, opened fire on the gunman and struck him multiple times, police said.
The 18-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, officials said.
Area 5 detectives were investigating.
