An arrest has been made in the fatal stabbing of woman in Logan Square Wednesday night, according to Chicago police.
Vanessa Hernandez, 55, was in a physical altercation with a man in an apartment in the 2800 block of North Woodard Avenue about 4:15 p.m. when he stabbed her in her face and neck, police said.
Hernandez was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 5:29 p.m., police said.
Her attacker fled in a Chevrolet Malibu with Colorado license plates but was taken into custody in the 2200 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, according to a police report obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
No charges have been announced.
