An Aurora police officer suffered minor injuries while chasing a stolen pickup truck when they crashed into an uninvolved woman’s vehicle Friday morning, according to police.
The woman was not injured, and the officer was taken to a hospital, Aurora Police Department spokesperson Joe Moylan wrote in an email.
Police spotted the stolen Ford F-150 Raptor in District 2, which includes parts of north and central Aurora, at about 5:51 a.m., Moylan wrote.
When officers tried to initiate a traffic stop, the truck drove off, leading them on a pursuit to the south.
Shortly before 6 a.m., a police vehicle that had activated its lights and sirens was en route to the chase when it collided with the woman, who was traveling north on Buckley Road near Dartmouth Avenue.
Moylan said the truck was not recovered, and the driver was still at large as of 8:16 a.m. Police were not immediately able to share a description of the truck beyond its make and model.
Anyone with information about the theft or the driver can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or online.
