Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour: Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dave Koz is back with the 28th edition of the longest-running jazz-based Christmas tour. This year’s line-up features long-time musical partner, guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler, plus a trio of on-the-rise artists such as vocalist Haley Reinhart, multi-instrumentalist Casey Abrams, and pianist Kayla Waters. Humbug: Watch this Bay Area tradition, returning in its 49th year, featuring Joe Ballesteros performing as the character of Ebenezer Scrooge in Humbug. Humbug” is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella called “A  Christmas Carol.” The play is produced by Jim Lanter and directed by Ballesteros, Curtis Moore, and Kelly Halvorson. The Nutcracker: Watch this production of a holiday tradition brought to you by the East County Performing Arts Center (ECPAC). In this version of the Nutcracker, Aunt Drosselmeyer plays an important role in guiding Clara through the Land of Sweets with wisdom, warmth, and a spark of magic. Crippsmas Place: Take a stroll on the sidewalks or drive through different neighborhoods and be dazzled by the holiday lights and decorations put up by more than 80 houses. A Charlie Brown Christmas: Who doesn’t love Charlie Brown? This holiday, watch how Charlie, who finds himself depressed despite the holiday season. His good friend Lucy Van Pelt suggests he direct a neighborhood Christmas play. The music score will be performed by Larry Dunlap on piano, Ken Miller on string bass, and Akira Tana on drums. There will be two shows, back-to-back. Kids of all ages are welcome, and costumes based on Peanuts characters are encouraged. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be a chance to meet the musicians. Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol — a Ghost Story Told by Jefferson Mays: Directed by Barry Edelstein, this version of A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story by Jefferson Mays, Susan Lyons, and Michael Arden tells the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge.
