James Logan flag football player Ella Vega is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Sept. 29-Oct. 4.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Vega finished with 54.9% of the votes. College Park water polo player Caroline Swanson took second with 42.3%.
Vega, a freshman, led the James Logan offense to victories over San Leandro and Tennyson, going 44-of-66 through the air with 524 yards and seven touchdowns as well as two rushing touchdowns and five conversion passes.
