Monday’s storm brought the most rainfall to the Bay Area of any day in six months. The storm, which affected the North Bay more than the South Bay or the East Bay, wasn’t big by winter standards.
But the Veterans Day showers did mark a clear shift that summer and fall are over, and the colder, wetter weather pattern that normally begins in November in Northern California and continues until April is arriving. The last time the Bay Area received this much rain was on May 4, when San Francisco received .94 inches; Oakland received .72; and San Jose saw .67.
