Bay Area vehicle burglary suspects arrested in Stockton

STOCKTON – Two Oakland residents wanted in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries were arrested Tuesday in Stockton after a car chase and standoff, police said.

Detectives went to the city to search for a stolen car associated with the duo – a 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man – and when they found it, they notified the Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force Team, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Police said the woman led task force officers on a pursuit, which ended with her running from the car and barricading herself inside an apartment. Officers later arrested the woman and the man when they exited the apartment.

The woman and the man were booked into San Joaquin County jail on charges including vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and conspiracy, as well as probation violations. The woman was also booked on a charge of evading a peace officer. Both are being held without bail.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, adding that the man and woman are also suspects in other crimes in the Bay Area.
