Bay FC to face Washington Spirit at Oracle Park, home of San Francisco Giants, in August

Bay FC is coming to Oracle Park.

The Bay Area’s NWSL team will take its show on the road to San Francisco on Aug. 23, playing a regular-season game against the Washington Spirit in a showcase setting at the Giants’ home ballpark.

“Oracle Park is an iconic venue and has proven across its 25-year history to be a gathering place for the most passionate fans in sports,” Bay FC CEO Brady Stewart said in a release. “We’re eager for the opportunity to create league history alongside the Washington Spirit by being the first professional women’s teams to play at Oracle Park. Playing a match in San Francisco allows us to connect with our fans from around the Bay Area in an incredible setting.”

This is not Bay FC’s first time playing in a baseball stadium. During its inaugural season last year, Bay FC defeated the Chicago Stars 2-1 in front of an NWSL-record crowd of 35,038 fans at Wrigley Field.

Bay FC’s ambition is to break that attendance record this time around in San Francisco. On paper, it’s possible. Oracle Park’s listed capacity is over 40,000.

Kickoff for the match is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT. The contest will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

Tickets for the match are included in Bay FC season ticket members’ plans. Additional tickets for the match go on sale to Bay FC season ticket members April 30, with other pre-sale opportunities beginning Monday, May 5.

Tickets will be available to the general public at 9 a.m. PT on May 6. Fans who want pre-sale access can sign up to become a Bay FC Insider.
