For the first time in more than two weeks, wide receiver Rome Odunze practiced for the Bears on Thursday.
Odunze, who played against the Eagles but then was shut down because of a stress fracture in his foot, missed Sunday’s rivalry game against the Packers. He was called a limited participant Wednesday in an estimated injury report, when the Bears held a walk-through rather than a practice.
The was technically a limited participant Thursday, but the activity makes him at least a candidate to play Sunday against the Browns.
Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson practiced on a limited basis, too, as did Olamide Zaccheaus. They were on Wednesday’s estimated report with hip and hamstring injuries, respectively. Stevenson hasn’t played since leaving a win against the Steelers last month.
Cornerback Kyler Gordon (groin) and running back Travis Homer (ankle) did not practice. They were out on Wednesday’s estimated injury report, too — coach Ben Johnson made it sound unlikely Gordon returns soon, if at all.
Sanders is pushing the ball down the field more than his predecessors did — which gives him an opportunity for both explosive plays and Bears takeaways.
