Bears rule out 3 injured starters vs. Ravens: TE Cole Kmet, CB Tyrique Stevenson, CB Kyler Gordon

While the Ravens are rested and fresh coming off their bye week, the Bears ruled out three starters for their game Sunday: tight end Cole Kmet, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson and nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon. All three missed practice due to injury Friday.

It will be Kmet’s first game missed in six seasons with the Bears after playing all 91, including playoffs, to this point. He hurt his back in the win over the Saints on Sunday and has been out all week.

The losses of Gordon and Stevenson are even more problematic. With Jaylon Johnson and Terell Smith already on Injured Reserve, the Bears will go into this game without four of their top five cornerbacks.

Stevenson, who had been playing well in Johnson’s absence, hurt his shoulder against the Saints and didn’t practice at all this week.

Bears coach Ben Johnson reiterated Friday he doesn’t expect Kmet or Stevenson to go on IR.

Gordon appeared to suffer groin and calf injuries in practice Thursday. He also missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury.

The Bears will lean heavily on rookie Colston Loveland at tight end and likely start Nick McCloud for Gordon. Stevenson’s spot opposite Nahshon Wright would be a tossup between Josh Blackwell and Jaylon Jones.

Running back D’Andre Swift (groin), wide receiver DJ Moore (hip) and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (ankle) all practiced Friday and are expected to play.
