Bears’ top 4 WRs — Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, Olamide Zaccheaus, Luther Burden — on long injury list

The Bears had a brutal start to the practice week ahead of their game Sunday at the Bengals. Six of their key players were out Wednesday.

That included their top four wide receivers in Rome Odunze (heel), DJ Moore (hip and groin), Olamide Zaccheaus (knee) and rookie Luther Burden III (concussion). It’s unclear at this point if any of their injuries are serious enough to threaten their availability to play.

Running back D’ Andre Swift (groin) was out with a groin injury, but he has been missing practice time and playing through that, so he’s expected to play against the Bengals barring anything unforeseen.

Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) was limited, and his absence would be hard to weather. Stevenson is now the Bears’ top player at the position with Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon on injured reserve and he was out last week against the Ravens. The Bengals have two standout wide receivers in Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

The Bears also didn’t have backup running back Roschon Johnson (back) and reserve defensive end Dominique Robinson (ankle).

The one piece of good news for them injury-wise was that tight end Cole Kmet, who missed the first game of his career Sunday because of a back injury, was limited in practice Wednesday.

Already down Joe Burrow, the Bengals are hopeful Flacco can play. If not, they’ll start backup Jake Browning.
He’ll play slot cornerback.
They took Booker off injured reserve and added him to the active roster Tuesday, as expected, and shut down fellow defensive end Shemar Turner for the season.
