Bears WR DJ Moore returns home Tuesday after spending night in Washington, D.C.-area hospital

LANDOVER, Md. — Bears wide receiver DJ Moore returned home Tuesday after being forced to spend the night in a hospital in the Washington, D.C., area after his team’s 25-24 victory against the Commanders.

Coach Ben Johnson said Tuesday that Moore was kept back after suffering a groin injury.

“The good news is he’s back in Chicago now and we’ll take him day-by-day,” he said. “We did get good news there from that visit.”

The Bears categorized his stay as precautionary. Asked how a groin injury kept Moore from flying Monday night, Johnson said the details were personal.

Moore was joking in the Bears’ locker room immediately after the game but was later spotted leaving Northwest Stadium in an ambulance.

He appeared to be in pain after taking a hit to the midsection in the first half. He finished the game and was not announced as injured at any point. Moore had three catches for 42 yards and two runs for 10.

Moore has 19 catches on 26 targets for 215 yards and one touchdown this season. In his role as a part-time running back, he has eight rushes for 25 yards.

The 3-2 Bears’ next game is against the Saints at noon Sunday at Soldier Field.

The coach heard some of the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast and didn’t sound amused.
