Bears WR Keenan Allen to miss another practice

The Bears are continuing Keenan Allen’s rest plan Wednesday.

The receiver won’t practice for the fourth-straight day while he tries to rehab a heel injury, coach Matt Eberflus said. Allen sat out all three practices last week and did not play in the Bears’ 19-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday night.

Allen wasn’t healthy enough to try to test his heel before the game. Rome Odunze, who has a right knee sprain, tested his injury, was cleared and played against the Texans.

The Bears dismissed Allen’s injury as a shoe issue last month, but his heel grew worse as the first game approached. He was hampered in the opener against the Titans and went to the blue injury tent.

The Bears traded a fourth-round pick to the Chargers in March for Allen, who missed the last four games of last season with a similar heel problem.

Guard Teven Jenkins will miss Wednesday’s practice with a deep thigh bruise. Eberflus said the team wasn’t particularly concerned with the injury. Matt Pryor will take his place Wednesday but the team doesn’t plan on making any changes to the starting offensive line.
