Body found in search for 15-year-old paddleboarder missing on Scottish loch

A body has been recovered from a lake at a Scottish beauty spot after a teenager paddleboarder went missing.

Emergency services and the coastguard were called to Loch Ore, in Fife, around 5.25pm on Saturday after concerns about a 15-year-old teen.

A search was launched for the missing paddleboarder, with a coastguard helicopter taking to the skies.

A no-fly zone was put in place around Loch Ore Meadows, a popular local beauty spot popular for yachting and open water swiming.

Police confirmed that the body of a male youth was recovered at about 1.20pm on Sunday.

The family of the missing teenager have been told, although formal identification has yet to take place.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
