Bonnie Blue may face a 15-year prison sentence for allegedly making pornographic content in violation of Indonesia’s morality laws after being detained in Bali last week.
The controversial creator also had her ‘Bangbus’ confiscated as she was taken into custody alongside 17 male tourists aged 19 to 40 on Thursday.
The adult star, real name Tia Billinger, 26, has been questioned by immigration officers following a police raid on a rental studio.
Blue travelled to Bali after she was banned from going to Australia last year, encouraging Aussies to meet her in the province instead.
Why was Bonnie Blue arrested?
Bonnie Blue allegedly planned to film explicit material during ‘schoolies week’ – a celebration after high school that is similar to Freshers’ Week for the UK.
Blue wrote: ‘Hey boys, those that’re going to Schoolies and to those who are barely legal, cannot wait to meet you – and I’m in Bali, so you know exactly what that means.’
But Indonesia has strict morality laws and pornography is banned, with those found to be flouting the rules facing a jail sentence.
The arrests were made after a report from a member of the public.
Could she go to jail?
If she is convicted, Blue could face up to 15 years in jail and a fine of about £270,000. Police have confirmed that she will be ‘summoned’ for an interview with Bali immigration officials in the next 48 hours.
Indonesian police said her group was creating ‘content containing pornographic or immoral elements’.
Blue’s passport has been seized, but she was allowed to return to her hotel along with three male members of her team. They await updates while under investigation, with their means of returning to the UK blocked.
However, some 14 of the boys and men arrested – all of whom are Australian – were released without charge after the raid.
Blue’s prospects may rest on whether the men involved participated in making any porn, which could be then used to turn a profit. If they made commercial content, the 14 men involved could still be charged.
Badung Police Chief Arif Batubara has confirmed, however, that the 14 men will be deported back to Australia once the investigation is complete.
Batubara added that Blue and three of the men – one Australian man and two Britons – are due to be questioned further on Wednesday.
Officials are said to be deciding how to proceed in the case, with the immigration department and Bali police working together.
Authorities also raided her accommodation, finding 19 outfits labelled ‘School Bonnie Blue’, a box of condoms, lubricant, nine pink necklaces, flash drives, two sheets of Viagra pills – some used.
After the raid, Batubara said: ‘We have handed them over to the Immigration for further investigation on alleged breaking Immigration law. The police investigation is still ongoing. We jointly conduct the investigation with the Immigration.’
Bali police also confirmed that her ‘Bangbus’ was not legal.
Last year, Blue received a ban from going to Australia after she planned to create explicit content with newly-18-year-olds in the country.
Meanwhile, in the UK she was slapped in the face at a nightclub during one of her student events in September this year.
Blue had been at Sheffield’s Onyx nightclub on a Thursday night as part of her ‘barely legal’ university tour.
She is said to have been hit by a woman who queued up to meet her.
One shocked clubber said: ‘I saw a woman talking to their friend while standing next to Bonnie Blue. They turned to Bonnie, turned back to their friend, and then punched Bonnie square in the jaw.’
