A 5-year-old boy has died after he drowned in a Buffalo Grove pool Friday evening.
Officials responded about 6:30 p.m. to a private residential pool in the 100 block of Copperwood Drive. The boy was unresponsive after he was taken out of the water, and bystanders were performing CPR, the Buffalo Grove Fire Department said.
The boy, from Plainfield, was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
Buffalo Grove police are investigating the incident.
