Brits are finally enjoying a deserved Easter break with some quality time to spend with family and friends.
Some may also wish to tackle some home improvements over the four-day weekend beginning with Good Friday today, April 18, and ending with Easter Monday on April 21.
That might be tricky for some, however, as shops tend to close early over the Easter weekend.You can also see a full list of supermarket opening times here.
The likes of B&Q, Homebase, Wickes and ScrewFix will all be open at various points over the weekend.
Shops larger than 280 square metres must close on Easter Sunday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, so it is important to know when DIY stores will be open this weekend.

B&Q branches are closed on Easter Sunday, so Brits will have to make sure they make the most of Good Friday and Saturday to purchase the kit they need.
Branches will be open from 7am to 8pm on Friday and from 7am to 8pm on Saturday.
Only in Scotland will branches be open on Sunday, with openeing times of 9am to 6pm.
On Easter Monday, your local B&Q should be open from 7am to 8pm. Though, depending on where in the UK you are, they might open their doors at 8am.
You can use B&Q’s store finder to track down your local branch to check its specific open hours and check for regional variations.
When is ScrewFix open over Easter weekend?
Supplies from some 900 ScrewFix branches will be available to buy from 7am to 6pm on Saturday.
But only stores in Scotland will be open on the day from 9am to 4pm. Shops in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are closed on Easter Sunday.

When is Homebase open over Easter weekend?
If you’re looking to do a little work in the garden over the bank holiday weekend, make sure you check when Homebase is open.
Shops in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland will be open from 8am to 8pm on Good Friday and 8am to 7pm on Saturday.
Branches will be shuttered on Easter Sunday; though normal trading hours will operate that day if you live in Scotland or Ireland.
On Easter Sunday, Homebase doors will open from 8am to 8pm.
Homebase has said that some of its stores around the country may vary their opening hours a bit so it’s best to use the store locator and check when your local branch is open.
When are Wickes open over Easter weekend?
Wickes is second only to B&Q when it comes to all things home improvement.
And just like B&Q, whether your nearest Wickes is open depends on where in the UK it is.
- Good Friday: 7am-8pm
- Saturday: 7am-7pm
- Easter Sunday: Closed (England and Wales), 7am-7pm (Scotland)
- Easter Monday: 7am-8pm
