A British woman has died after a collision between two skiers in France.
The crash happened at the Les Arcs resort in the French Alps at about 10.30am on Tuesday.
Local news site Le Dauphine described the collision as ‘violent’ and said it is thought the crash involved one moving and one stationary skier.
They were on the black slope of the Aiguille Rouge – black slopes are the most difficult ski runs intended for advanced skiers to use, with gradients of at least 40%.
It’s thought a 62-year-old British woman crashed into a 35-year-old man who was stationary on the slope.
Both were understood to have been wearing helmets, and the man is also thought to have been a British citizen.

Ski patrollers and an emergency doctor quickly arrived on scene to administer first aid, but they were unable to resuscitate the victim.
Les Arcs is located in the French Alps, not far from the border with Italy and about 125miles (200km) east of Lyon.
This is just the latest in a string of tragedies on the Alps in recent months.
A British skier, thought to be in his 60s, crashed into a tree and died last March as he reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a group of fellow skiers.
A family of five skiers froze to death in the Swiss Alps after getting lost in the mountains, also last March.
And three skiers died in the Italian Alps earlier this month following an avalanche in the northern Piedmont region.
A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in France and are in touch with the local authorities.’
