A British woman is dead after being repeatedly stabbed in Cambodia due to an apparent ‘love triangle’.

Jessica Cariad Hopkins, 34, was found Friday evening in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district with multiple stab wounds.

Congolese woman Kidikila Nganda Glodie has since been arrested in relation to the crime.

Jessica, originally from Harpenden, Hertfordshire, had been living in a rental property in Phnom Penh before her death.

An FCDO Spokesperson told Metro: ‘We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in Cambodia and are in contact with the local authorities.’

Jessica’s social media showed she lived in Siem Reap, Cambodia, shortly before her death.

Local police have suggested the deadly altercation came after a love triangle involving the two women, but have not released further details.

Witnesses on the scene told local media they saw a man and woman arguing near the murder scene, before the pair left.

After the witnesses returned a short while later, they found the woman involved in the argument dead.

Police have spoken to the two witnesses, who were allowed to leave police custody after helping officers with enquiries.
