Browns’ Shadeur Sanders will start at QB for rest of the season

Browns rookie Shadeur Sanders will start at quarterback the rest of the season, including Sunday at Soldier Field, coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday.

He said Sanders had improved in each of his three starts this year. Sanders played his best game of the season in a two-point loss to the lowly Titans on Sunday, going 23-for-42 for 364 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and a 97.7 passer rating.

“I feel good about where his development is heading,” Stefanski told Browns reporters Monday. “He knows there are always going to be plays that he can be better and those type of things, but he’s very intentional about getting better each and every game he’s out there.”

The 3-10 Browns lost to the 2-11 Titans when, after Sanders threw for a touchdown pass with 1:09 to play to get within two, running back Quinshon Judkins threw an incomplete pass on a trick-play two-point conversion try.

“They’re a team now that has named their starting quarterback and they’re starting to push the ball downfield more … ” Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson said. “I feel like he’s a very solid quarterback and he’s got a lot of potential. “
