Centennial celebration
The historic Ainsley House is turning 100, and the Campbell Museum Foundation is marking this milestone with “A Night Under the Stars,” a Roaring Twenties-themed gala and fundraiser to be held in the garden of the historic house.
Set for Saturday, Sept. 27, the evening will transport guests back to the 1920s, complete with red carpet arrivals, a no-host wine bar, a buffet dinner in the garden, a 1920s-themed costume contest with prizes, live music and dancing to a DJ and a silent auction.
Guests are encouraged to come dressed in formal attire or 1920s-inspired fashion; spiked heels are discouraged to protect the garden turf. Costume contest categories include Best Overall 1920s Look, Best Combo and Most Creative.
Early bird tickets are $135 per person through Aug. 31 at https://www.campbellmuseums.com. Beginning Sept. 1, tickets will be $150. All tickets are considered a donation to the Campbell Museum Foundation. Proceeds from the event, set for 5-10 p.m., will support preservation efforts at the Ainsley House, including termite mitigation and wood rot repairs.
Pie Guys opens
Square Pie Guys opened Aug. 5 in downtown Campbell with a ribbon cutting and free pizza for the first 100 customers, with the 65th customer winning free pizza for a year.
Square Pie Guys is located at 510 E. Campbell Ave. The local Detroit-style local pizza chain started in the Mission District in San Francisco. Campbell is the chain’s fifth location and first in the South Bay.
