Charges are pending after a SWAT standoff in Austin Friday morning on the West Side, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to the 4900 block of West Jackson Boulevard for a domestic disturbance just before 2 a.m. where a witness told them an argument began between two people before one of them struck the other, police said in a statement.
Officers called for SWAT backup after the witness told them the suspect had access to two large dogs and a firearm, police said.
The person who was struck was able to leave the home, officials said. The suspect exited around 3:45 a.m. and was arrested without incident, police said.
