Chicago Bears’ player of the year for 2025? Here’s how you voted

So who gets your Bear of the Year award for 2025?

That kicked things off in this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Chicago Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X.

How about quarterback Caleb Williams?

“Got to go with Caleb,” @RonaldVoigt4 commented. “He’s the one who threw it 60 yards in the air [to beat the Packers].”

Then again, how about the architect of the team, general manager Ryan Poles?

“I vote for Ryan,” @ronw_sportsnut wrote, “because he’s the one that went out and hired Ben Johnson and drafted Williams.”

But what — Johnson, the first-year coach, ran away with the vote, and not just because he ripped off his shirt to fill Bears fans’ bellies.

“Who else can give us free hot dogs?” @JBIRD1268 put it.

Next: Which Chicago team had the worst 2025?

“The Sky by a landslide,” @lennyzelms weighed in. “What a godawful franchise.”

Last, we asked for the winner of Sunday’s Bears-49ers game. This one was a close call. Will the actual game be, as well?

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: Who gets your Bear of the Year award for 2025?

Upshot: Jeez, this is a landslide. Guess that settles it then. New nickname: “Papa Bear” Johnson. What, too much?

Poll No. 2: Which Chicago team had, however you would define it, the worst 2025?

Upshot: Just asking, does this count as a win for the Sox? Because they’ll take any they can get.

Poll No. 3: The Bears visit the 49ers Sunday in a clash of 11-4 teams. Who wins?

Upshot: Two words, people: “Christian” and “McCaffrey.” He’s pretty good in case you’ve never heard of him.
