A Chicago firefighter was injured while battling a residential fire Wednesday night in the Austin neighborhood.
Officials responded to a fire in a one-and-a-half story house in the 1100 block of North Waller Avenue, the Chicago Fire Department said in a social media post around 10:20 p.m. It wasn’t immediately clear when the fire was reported.
One firefighter was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, the department said.
The fire was “under control,” the department said in the social media post. The cause of the fire was being investigated.
