Chicago pediatrician accused of sexually assaulting 16-year-old with intellectual disability at Elgin hotel

A pediatrician was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old with an intellectual disability at an Elgin hotel last month.

Trevor J. Roston, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a child, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office announced.

The state’s attorney’s office alleges Roston, 33, followed the minor into a single-use poolside bathroom of an Elgin hotel that they were both staying at, locked the door behind him, and sexually assaulted her about Nov. 29.

Although Roston is board certified in pediatrics, he did not practice pediatrics at Advocate Sherman Hospital and has since been fired, according to the state’s attorney’s office.

Roson was ordered to remain in custody during a pretrial hearing Monday, authorities said. He is due back in court Dec. 29.

Anyone who has additional information regarding Roston or who may have been a victim of his is encouraged to contact 630-208-5160.
