A Chicago police officer has alleged that another officer sexually assaulted her Friday morning after they attended a Christmas party with other cops assigned to their Southwest Side police district.
Officers responded Friday afternoon to Trinity Hospital, where a nurse told them that a 26-year-old female officer had reported being assaulted by her 37-year-old male co-worker, according to a police report. Both officers are assigned to the Chicago Lawn district and had attended the party together.
A police spokesperson said a “known offender” was responsible, but no one had been arrested.
The woman who reported being attacked said she was picked up at her home by the other officer a night earlier, and they went to the party together at Bourbon Street in Marionette Park, 335 W. 115th St., according to the report.
They both consumed alcohol until they were intoxicated and at some point decided to leave the party and go to a strip club, the report states.
On the way there, the male officer allegedly started touching the woman’s body, including her legs and private area, the report states. Although she ordered him to stop, the groping continued at the strip club, she said.
The male officer asked his co-worker if she wanted to come to his house when they left, but she doesn’t recall responding, according to the report. She said she wasn’t feeling well, so she closed her eyes and leaned her head on the passenger-side door.
When he drove to his home, she told him she wanted to lie down because she felt intoxicated, the report states. After falling asleep, she woke up around 6 a.m. Friday to find the male officer touching her again.
She pushed his hands off her and told him to fall asleep, the report states. He allegedly said, “I want to f- – – the s- – – out of you” and then sexually assaulted her.
They both fell asleep and awoke around 8:30 a.m., at which point he drove her home, according to the report. She later drove herself to the hospital, arriving there around 1:15 p.m.
Area 2 detectives are investigating the alleged attack.
